well I'd dig further, but what I see with metacity, and e.g.
xprop -id `xprop | grep WM_CLIENT_LEADER | cut -d \# -f 2`
on gnome-terminal is I get the xprop on the leader window output of e.g.
SM_CLIENT_ID(STRING) = "117f000001000112262049300000202680003"
while with OOo the WM_CLIENT_LEADER window doesn't have SM_CLIENT_ID set, the
X11 SalDisplay reference window does instead, which is what I'm suspicious
about.
