Hunspell is an add-on replacement for Myspell, the default spell checker of OOo (in fact, Hunspell is an improved Myspell). With Hunspell, OOo can handle multibyte Aspell spell checking dictionaries (Amharic (አማርኛ), Azerbaijani (Azərbaycanca), Bengali (বাংলা), Kashubian (Kaszëbsczi), Persian (فارسی), Hindi (हिंदी), Marathi (मराठी), Oriya (ଓଡ଼ିଆ), Punjabi (ਪੰਜਾਬੀ), Tamil (தமிழ்), Vietnamese (Việt ngữ)). Hunspell has better support for agglutinative languages (half of the languages of the world) and languages with complex word compoundings (for example, German and Hungarian). I think, Hunspell will be a big advancement in OOo 2.0. But testing and quality checking is fundamental. I have already made a detailed analysis with Valgrind. Now I am testing all OOo spell checking directiories with Hunspell (I am generating all accepted words with Myspell's unmunch tool, and check with Hunspell). I also need to check Big endian compatibility. So I'd like to replace Myspell in CWS, and testing the result.
