------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thu Aug 4 04:19:42 -0700 2005 ------- Neither rpm not dpkg have problems with the '.' in the product name (as proven by the URE package). In fact openoffice.org- is exactly what the LSB recomments: <QUOTE source=http://refspecs.freestandards.org/LSB_3.0.0/LSB-Core-generic/LSB-Core-generic.html#PKGNAMECONV> Package names which do not start with "lsb-" and which contain a hyphen are open to both distributions and applications. [..] Applications may name their packages this way, but only if the portion of the name before the first hyphen is a provider name or registered domain name as described above.[6] [6] For example, if an application vendor has domain name visicalc.example.com and has registered visicalc as a provider name, they might name packages visicalc-base, visicalc.example.com-charting, and the like. </QUOTE> Since we haven't registered openofficeorg as provider name, we should rename the packages to openoffice.org-* (providing Updates: tags for a smooth transistion). --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
