It is not a bug. The inserted index is protected against manual changes (and
will be exported as this). If a text in Word contains a protected section,
"Select all" will not be possible there.
Insert the index without protection (the Insert.Index dialog offers an option
for this) and it will be possible to "Select all" in MS Word.
