Oh dear, the solution for this problem was to disable "show only contour of
inserted image" ...
It seems that that has been the preselection after installation, heaven might
know why. If that really is the normal preselection, that can be very worrying,
but I believe that that was a "special effect" on that PC, caused by the several
m680 upgrades and not by WIN98. So I believe it would be the best to close this
issue INVALID.
