Here is what happens: Windows 98 SE, OOffice 1.9.118, Mozilla 1.7.6 or Firefox 1.0 or IE 6; Acrobat reader 5 or 6 when Oo quickstarter is enabled and no actual OO Applications are running, opening a pdf document from any website from one of the above browsers launches Acrobat reader, which hangs. When opening task manager both OO and Arobat appear as not responding, killing OO makes Arobat continue loading correctly.
