Product Accessibility requires that any functionality is available by keyboard, thus you need a shortcut for selecting a column. Shift-Space (which is also documented in the online-help) was considered appropriate for this purpose. There's already an issue somewhere saying that this is unfortunate, since it hinders you while entering mixed-case data.
