Although it is possible to use cross-references to bookmarks, I suggest using a
dedicated reference instead. The reference will be highlighted like other fields
(when field-shading is turned on) an thus it is much easier to spot it and to
make sure one really edits the reference (as opposed to adding text after/before
the reference as regular text).
Im both cases: highlight the text in your document that should be the
reference-text before inserting the bookmark or set the reference.
(if you want to use bookmarks, the status bar can help to identify what is part
of the bookmark and what is not: right-click the leftmost field in the statusbar
(the one with the page number) to get a list of bookmarks defined in the
document. When you choose one of the bookmark the text beloning to the bookmark
gets selected. It will be hightlighted as well when you use the navigator).
