When exporting an OpenOffice spreadsheet containing blank cells to Microsoft
Excel 2003 XML format, the blank cells are represented as:

   <Cell =""/>

... which is invalid because there is no attribute name preceding the equal
sign. The well-known XML parser, LibXML2 (http://www.xmlsoft.org/) gives the
following error message:

Entity: line 3: parser error : attributes construct error
osoft-com:office:spreadsheet"><Cell =""/><Cell =""/><Cell =""/><Cell =""/><Cell
