I have made the following key bindings:
Ctrl-Down --- To Next Paragraph
Ctrl-Up --- To Previous Paragraph
Ctrl-Shift-Down --- Select to Next Sentence
Ctrl-Shift-Up --- Select to Previous Sentence

While doing Ctrl-Shift-Up through text, if, while in the middle of a paragraph,
I release the shift key, and do a Ctrl-Up, the shift state stays on and
additional text is selected. If I then release both shift and ctrl and move
around using the arrow keys, the shift state is still on.

If I start the above procedure over, but instead of releasing shift in the
middle of a paragraph, I release it on a paragraph boundry, everything works as
expected.
