Installing OOo 2.Beta2 (as root), I moved the Suse Desktop integration file up,
and ran rpm -Uvh Open*.rpm
It reported a lot of messages (all below) like this one:
error: cannot get shared lock on /var/lib/rpm/Packages error: cannot open
Packages index using db3 - Operation not permitted (1) error: cannot open
Packages database in /var/lib/rpm package openoffice.org-core01 is not installed
But, an attempt at installing again reported everything already installed. And
it does seem to work.
I don't understand what the error reported. /var/lib/rpm/Packages is present, is
owned by root, and root has read/write permission. It is a binary file.
I guess whatever format it is in, it isn't db3. I tried
/usr/lib/rpm/rpmdb_verify on /var/lib/rpm/Packages which did nothing. But I ran
/usr/lib/rpm/rpmdb_verify -V and got
Sleepycat Software: Berkeley DB 4.1.24: (April 5, 2004)
Maybe it is db4???
