------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thu Sep 1 16:34:20 -0700 2005 ------- This issue still exists in OpenOffice 2.0 Beta (1.9.125) as I tried to create a database linked to a spreadsheet and a column which had MOSTLY numbers was treated as number and all text data was lost when querying the data from the column. Even trying to override the formatted datatype to Text did not cause "Base" to set the datatype to varchar instead of decimal. Only when I added garbage first row with text data in that column did the data type change. This is an interesting bug to solve as all the columns in the sheet were set as "number" (Excel file from someone else). so the question is which should be authoritative the formatting type of the column, or what the column looks like. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
