According to pluby it is quite unlikekly that we get this issue fixed. That's
what he said:

"I don't think that Java applets will ever work with X11 on Mac OS X as X11 is
not the native windowing system for Mac but is, instead, like running X11 on a
Windows machine.

Basically, any AWT components created in an OOo X11 process will only be able to
attach to native Cocoa windows. Those native Cocoa windows reside within OOo's
address space whereas the X11 windows that OOo creates are Carbon windows that
reside in the memory space of the X11 server process.

Since Mac OS X does have APIs for drawing to a different process' windows, there
really is no way to make the underlying Carbon window's graphics context in the
X11 server process available to the OOo application process that the JVM is
running in. "

So we should probably change the target and hope for a native implemenation one
day...
