Art and Core team,

Delivering the detailed error messages from devices to controllers was
considered very important inside HAE project from the very beginning.

But, unfortunately there was a lack of this capability for SetProperty while
normal Method calls provide this.

While following IRB interface design guidelines, lots of resources for HAE
devices are modeled as Properties.

So having this nice feature for SetProperty and for both SCL and TCL is one of
our strong requests.

Upon TSC chair and Core WG’s recommendation (stability and maintenance point of
views),

Nowadays we/HAE are trying to rebase our work for initial release over 16.04
Core.

Sooner is better. But If 16.04a is a viable option, then it would be very much
appreciated.

Thanks for your support,

Inhwan.

Josh and Inhwan,

It sounds to me like this is rather critical for you? I want to make sure that
HAE has what it needs from Core as HAE is one of the most important things our
alliance has going towards release soon. I'll make sure we review with the
Core team regarding how hard the fix is and its scheduling. I expect we will
need a 16.04a release as well, so this might be the approach.

Thanks, Art

Thank you Inhwan, it is helpful to know that waiting until 16.10 is acceptable.
There should be no problems including it in the next release.

Thanks,
Josh

Dear Core WG members,

ASACORE-1811, reported a year ago is very important for HAE or other service
frameworks.

Since the code freeze for 16.04 Core is planned tomorrow, I don’t believe it is
realistic to include a full support for both SCL and TCL to 16.04 release.

Thus, having the full support for both SCL and TCL versions are still highly
requested by HAE project. Possibly with 16.10.

Best,

Inhwan.

Hi Seungchul Han,

One of our team developing AllJoyn Core has been working on ASACORE-1811 which
I understand is important for the HAE working group.

The C++ implementation has been merged with the feature/ASACORE-1811 branch,
and the C bindings for SCL are almost complete. However, we have not yet had
time to implement either the TCL version of this or any other SCL bindings.

Because code freeze for 16.04 is planned for tomorrow (Thursday) during the
Core WG meeting it is unlikely that this change will be added to the 16.04
release.

If you would like to argue for the inclusion of this in the 16.04 release then
I recommend having someone from the HAE WG attend the Core WG call tomorrow
(Thursday) to discuss this. The meeting starts at 10:00 AM PDT (5:00 PM UTC).

Thanks,

Josh
