16.10 is in release ready, there's still a lot of testing that is not done. 16.10 official release is target for end of October (10/27), they going into code freeze 10/20. However as in the alljoyn meeting notes I sent out there might be a slip due to testing contract issue.
16.10 bug bar is that going forward, only blocking bugs will be allowed in. Windows side, as mentioned in my MS RS2 forum note, Microsoft will release 16.10 windows router with RS2, RS2 is timed around Spring 2017 (April). I'm thinking they might release update before that. Key thing is post RS2 MS will feature lock the windows alljoyn router, which means either 17.04 (or 16.10) might be the last update to windows router unless there is security issue. I tink 16.10 will be a good one for us to update too once its release as some of our issues are addressed in that and also its properly aligned on all OSes (iOS, C/C++, windows). Its probably the only version that's properly tested too. -Binh From: Blayney, Jeff Sent: Tuesday, October 11, 2016 8:21 AM To: [email protected] Cc: Truong, Binh <[email protected]>; Cazier, Robb P (CEPS SW Development) <[email protected]>; Mozzetta, Jonathan <[email protected]>; Poole, Gary <[email protected]> Subject: HP Orbit update and is 16.10 ready? Hello core team, Thanks for all of our support this year. It's been quite a journey. HP Orbit is now live in the Google Play store and the Apple store. If you purchase a new HP PC and get access to Orbit, I encourage you to try it out! Our team has been seeing communications issues over AllJoyn recently, so we're planning on spending some time looking at this again. I have some questions I am hoping someone can answer to guide our work: * How ready is 16.10? o Is it officially released? o If not, what is left for this release? o I couldn't find release notes for it - are they out there? o Are there any areas of concern you'd like us to keep an eye on? * What changes have been made to the Windows alljoyn router in the last 30-45 days? * Are there any planned updates coming soon for the Windows alljoyn router? (2016?) Thanks for any help and/or information! -Jeff
