Elin, I did the same as you want to. I planted Crocus 'Prince (Prins) Claus'.
My husband's name is "Klaus" so I took literary license and wrote "Prince
Klaus" on the I.D. label. Because of where I planted them, these Crocus are
the first to emerge and bloom in spring, even while there are multiple feet of
snow in most of the rest of the gardens. Come mid-April, Klaus is out there
(in the snow) every day, watching with great anticipation to see if today is
the day the first flower opens. And if it is, he finds me and we both admire
