That's an important reason! I was just looking at the Alplains list, and in particular keeping my eyes open for small shrubby things; I noticed a small shrub in the honeysuckle family that sounded interesting, and then realised, " Oh, that's what I know as Lonicera involucrata, and it grows wild all over my acreage..." although Alplains' might be a smaller form.. I definitely have no hope of remembering the synonyms for everything, just try to remember that they exist, and use google a lot! Cohan
The only advantage to knowing a plant's name (and all its synonyms) that I can see is to prevent me from buying the same plant over and over again. > > > > Bob Nold > Denver, Colorado, USA > > West Central Alberta, Canada, Zone 2-3 record temps from 10-20 miles away: min -45C/-49F;max 34C/93F http://picasaweb.google.com/cactuscactus
