I can't find the original comment posted recently from someone who had
Penstemons popping up in between patio pavers. Here are 2 shots of what I
call *Penstemon hirsutus pygmaeus purpureus* (either too many names or in
the wrong order) but they perfectly bear out all the descriptive
appellations. They have seeded themselves most happily into the stone dust
between the pavers of the terrace in Warwick, NY (Orange County zone 6 and
on the market).
