I'm afraid I can't answer your very welcome question ... I will leave it to 
more erudite and botanically minded members to reply, but what I can do (if 
required) is to post a close-up image of this particular plant?
I have also added several images of Paris quadrifolia from the Dolomites and a 
beautiful species of Paris captured in Barb Wetzel's remarkable garden in 
Barrington Hills, Illinois.  Perhaps Barb could kindly supply the species name?
