Hi
I try to compile several examples of programms using alsa, found
on the alsa's website, but i have got always a message like :
ALSA lib pcm_hw.c:598:(snd_pcm_hw_open) SNDRV_PCM_IOCTL_PVERSION failed:
Inappropriate ioctl for device
Error opening hw:0,0
alsa version is 0.9.0beta9, and kernel 2.4.16
I have made special files with ./snddevice
module are loaded :
# cat /proc/asound/cards
0 [card0 ]: SB AWE - Sound Blaster 16
Sound Blaster 16 at 0x220, irq 5, dma 1&5
Alsaplayer give me :
AlsaPlayer 0.99.36
(C) 1999-2001 Andy Lo A Foe <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> and others.
ALSA lib pcm_hw.c:593:(snd_pcm_hw_open) open /dev/snd/pcmC0D0p failed:
No such device
snd_pcm_open: No such device
/usr/lib/alsaplayer/output/libalsa.so failed to load
ERROR: I could not find a suitable output module on your
system. Make sure they're in "/usr/lib/alsaplayer/output/".
Use the -o par�meter to select one.
ERROR: failed to load output add-on. Exiting..
Only applications using OSS emulation works fine.
What is wrong ?
Since 3 days I am searching what is the problem ...
I am about to make an Ada95 binding of alsa driver, but
if I can't use it to learn how does it works ...
