I have a Compaq Presario 700 notebook, it has a VT8362 norh bridge with
a VT82C686b south bridge. I compile and install the via686a drivers which
loads and detect the integrated sound without any troubles. When I try to
play anything it seems to play find just I get no sound (I've unmuted all
channels using alsamixer, of course).
Has anyone else had this problem? What information would be usefull
in determining what the problem is? The OSS driver included with the kernel
does not seem to work either.
I don't know much about sound hardware but I am a programmer so
if you need me to trace something or try a patch I am more than capable.
