thanks. i was in the middle of providing a module-parameter switched
version at abramo's request. i strongly request, however, that you
change the name of the parameter to "snd_sloppy_ptr". the code
accessed with that option makes the pointer *less* precise because of
h/w errors. i don't want people thinking that its a way to get better
performance - in just about all cases, it will make things worse.
