You can get the sources by many different ways.

The first one is probably to get it from the stable version from
the website. If you notice a bug or something and you want the last
cvs version, you have already everything (and you know it because,
OF COURSE, you have read the INSTALL file. :-)).

I think the main point is to get more beta-testers.

The number of testers will anyway increase by putting the drivers
in Linux 2.5.x. But it still remain the library, and the tools.

But, I really think that Alsa is good. My ensoniq 1370 never had
such a good sound. And the architecture of Alsa seems good for me.

OSS was avoiding interesting problems like having several soundcards,
managing sound in real SMP way, real-time constraints, ...

All this stuff is not easy, it will probably be difficult to solve,
but as I see the work done now, I'm pretty confident. :-)

Anyway, the futur seems to be very promising.

First, there is no really good solution to manage the sound over
the network (maybe NASD), stuff like Esound and aRts are note really
satisfying (any user can run it, it should be a daemon to my point of
view). And what about chips like the Audigy ? With all these features
of spatial localization of the sound, ambiant, 5.1, ... Wow ! 8-)

PS:
I'm still on this freezing and I can say that it's very very cold here ! ;-)

I'm preparing a list of all the informations that I have about it.

Regards
