I wasn't going to bring this up but you did.. What if two
different pages contradict each other? Which one is right? Who owns the
words? What if Mark Rages closes the Wiki and starts selling everyone's
contributions? May I re-publish the information in the Wiki?

Normally, there's a single maintainer who is responsible for the
contents of document. If there is a problem, one can send a bug report to
the maintainer. Also, everything in a document is covered under the same
license. Contributions to the document fall within the same license. How
does this work in a Wiki?

Your concerns can be addressed through good project management. I
don't see any barrier to the occasional contributor... Just send your
patches as plaintext and someone will review it and add it. No problem.

Look, I know DocBook and have been looking for a way to
contribute. But the sad fact of the matter is that I've been unable to get
the latest 0.9.x and CVS snapshots to build. My experiences with ALSA have
been really frustrating.

I think in ORA's "In a Nutshell" series might be trademarked. How
about an ALSA Programmer's Guide that is similar to the OSS Programmer's
Guide? Check out the OSS Programmer's Guide at
