Thank you for pointing me to that site, the patch for 2.5.1-preX to use 
ALSA 0.9.0beta9 works beautifully.  Will there be a patch similar to 
this to use ALSA 0.9.0beta10 any time soon?  Also I notcied that while 
the OSS/Free drivers pick up my TriTech ac97codec (id. 0x54524123) as a 
"TriTech TR A5" the ALSA drivers have an entry in their ac97_codec.c 
file for it is a "TriTech TR28602" but then list beside the entry that 
it is only a guess.  Which entry is correct?  Thank you again for the help.
