After compiling and instaling alsa-driver 0.9.0b8a and alsa-lib (same version) and using insert script from utils directory only oss works. When i'm trying to run amixer error says that device was not found. When I'm trying to use alsa sound output in soundtracker error says that protocol is not compatibile. When Im using alsaconf script to add my sb live and sb awe64 error says that alsa was not found in this system. When i had alsa drv version 0.5.12, ive managed to run alsa, but amixer was giving error "invalid parameter". I have asus p3bf (bx440 chipset), kernel 2.4.16, slackware 8 system. When i had slack 7, kernel 2.2.x alsa was working fine.
