I've fixed this problem in CVS. This problem can be seen with these
drivers:

ymfpci (except YMF744 model)
cmipci (except CMI8338 model)
emu10k1 (only E-mu APS model)

In other words: The /usr/share/alsa/cards/aliases.conf file was not parsed
properly thus aliases were not working. Thanks for this bug-report.
