Hi Dan,
could you please add a note to the ALSA Soundcard matrix that the Turtle Beach Santa Cruz (and it's rebranded equivalent 'Video Logic - Sonic Fury' http://www.videologic.com/Products/VL-60444/ProductIntro.asp?Product=VL-60444) have only limited ALSA support. Due to Cirrus Logic not able/willing to release full DSP code/documentation only the 1st codec can be accessed. Hence this very nice card can only be used as a simple 2in/2out card while using the MS Windows drivers it is capable of 4in/6out and offers effects and eq using the CS4630 DSP. I suppose this limitation is valid for all other CS4630 based cards; eg. Hercules Game Theater XP and Terratec SixPack 5.1. Cheers, Frank. ps. It's a sad world we live in where companies still hold on to closed source drivers... For what reason? Because they are afraid they'll have sell too much units or that opening up the drivers puts too much exposure on them and reveals code one would be ashamed of?? -- +---- --- -- - - - - | Frank van de Pol -o) A-L-S-A | [EMAIL PROTECTED] /\\ Sounds good! | http://www.alsa-project.org _\_v | Linux - Why use Windows if we have doors available? _______________________________________________ Alsa-devel mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/alsa-devel
