In order to prevent additional ADC and DA conversions in processing the sound comming from my CD-ROM, I would like to use the S/PDIF input on my SBLive! card. Therefore, I first tried to play music with the digital output of the CD-ROM connected to the S/PDIF input of the SBLive! However, I don't get sound at the output. How do I select/address the S/PDIF input within ALSA?
