-------- Original Message -------- From: Kristof Pelckmans <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Support M-Audio Delta 410 To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Hello, I'm looking into writing my own audio distribution software that would consist of 4 analog inputstreams, 6 digital inputstreams (generated from within the system, eg. mp3-player) and one 5.1 dolby digital input stream (generated by dvd software). I would like to distribute any of these 16 streams to my 9 analog outputs. My eye fell on the M-Audio Delta 410 (http://www.midiman.com/products/m-audio/delta410.php) since it is capable of handling 2 analog inputs and 8 analog outputs at very nice characteristics. The two missing inputs and one output could be provided by one of the soundcards I have left over from some old system. As I understand, all Delta cards are supported that have the Envy24 chipset. Is this also true for the Delta 410 ? Does anyone have any experience using this card under Linux ? Would I be able to drive all my 9 outputs at the same time using different inputs ? Is anyone doing the same thing, maybe using a different card ? Are there alternative cards to the Delta 410 that have better linux support and are worth considering ? Would it be possible to get 5 old sound cards and combine them into one system without getting interrupt conflicts etc. Any comments or good resources on audio programming are always very welcome, since I can't wait to get get this system up and running. Best regards, Kristof Pelckmans
