I'm interested in developing audio applications in Linux, using Alsa for output. However, I still haven't figured out how to access the various channels of my RME DIGI 9636, or even playing back stereo tracks. I gather from earlier posts on this list I'm not the only one with this problem, but I've yet to see a real solution? I thought Alsa was a good match for this card, but so far its involved more hassle than I expected :\ The conf system remains a mystery to me, can I make use of the /usr/share/alsa/cards/RME9636.conf file in any way? I have set up an .asoundrc file according to examples. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
