Okay, basically it is possible to emulate ALSA API on top of the OSS API, but the emulated devices will be limited and the data transfers might be inefficient. The point about the OSS wrapper is irrelevant. Also commercial OSS has a GPL project which can map their kernel drivers into ALSA kernel driver core, but I'm not a big fan for these projects.
