Using the alsa-utils rpm which came with Mandrake 8.1
(alsa-utils-0.5.10-3mdk to be precise) I've encountered a problem I've
never seen before. While most things (including alsactl) seem to work,
aplay and arecord both give the following, mysterious error:
Error: unable to obtain longname: Permission denied
If anyone has any suggestions, I'll be grateful.
