Hello everybody,
I have a little problem getting my Yamaha Waveblaster(724chip) card to work
probertly.
My problem is as follows:
I can write to /dev/snd/midiC0D0 , but I cant read from it. Example:
"cat file-to-be-dumped.syx >/dev/snd/midiC0D0"
works like a charm(the drummaschine recives, and initialize the
systemexecuteable)... BUUT..
"cat /dev/snd/midiC0D0 >dumpPLEAASE"
doesnt work. no data is recived, its like the data never gets into the port(and
yes, i am pressing "send" on the drummaschine :O).
The file is 0bytes. Ive tried just to cat /dev/snd/midiC0D0 , just to see if any
data is recived at all, and nothing.. it doesnt get any data to the port.
Can this have something to do with my /etc/modules.config?
the only thing ive done to get the midiport up and running is add:
option snd-card-ymfpci snd_mpu_port=0x300 snd_mpu_irq=7
is this not suffient?
Im pretty sure the midi network is correctly setup, since i can do it on my
(eeeek) windows system via. midiox.
Any help/pointers would be SOOO nice :)
