hi,
I would like to switch my audio device for "supertuxkart" ("STK") to
ALSA/HDMI-audio. STK uses OpenAL which can be configured to use ALSA:
http://supertux.lethargik.org/wiki/OpenAL_Configuration
Here are the devices on my (ALSA) system:
$ aplay -L
default
Playback/recording through the PulseAudio sound server
hdmi:CARD=MID,DEV=0
HDA Intel MID, HDMI 0
HDMI Audio Output
sysdefault:CARD=PCH
HDA Intel PCH, ALC887-VD Analog
Default Audio Device
front:CARD=PCH,DEV=0
HDA Intel PCH, ALC887-VD Analog
Front speakers
surround40:CARD=PCH,DEV=0
HDA Intel PCH, ALC887-VD Analog
4.0 Surround output to Front and Rear speakers
surround41:CARD=PCH,DEV=0
HDA Intel PCH, ALC887-VD Analog
4.1 Surround output to Front, Rear and Subwoofer speakers
surround50:CARD=PCH,DEV=0
HDA Intel PCH, ALC887-VD Analog
5.0 Surround output to Front, Center and Rear speakers
surround51:CARD=PCH,DEV=0
HDA Intel PCH, ALC887-VD Analog
5.1 Surround output to Front, Center, Rear and Subwoofer speakers
surround71:CARD=PCH,DEV=0
HDA Intel PCH, ALC887-VD Analog
7.1 Surround output to Front, Center, Side, Rear and Woofer speakers
iec958:CARD=PCH,DEV=0
HDA Intel PCH, ALC887-VD Digital
IEC958 (S/PDIF) Digital Audio Output
$ aplay -D hdmi /usr/share/sounds/purple/send.wav
works fine (unless HDMI audio is used by, say, amarok in which case I
get "audio open error: Device or resource busy").
So I tried this in ~/.openalrc:
-------------------
(define devices '(alsa))
(define alsa-out-device "hdmi:0,0")
(define speaker-num 2)
-------------------
But I don't get any sound via HDMI-audio. What can be observed is that
"aplay -D hdmi ...wav" breaks when amarok is running using HDMI-audio
("audio open error: Device or resource busy"), _but_ when running "aplay
..." while supertuxkart is running it plays successfully.
I also tried to use pulseaudio ((define alsa-out-device "default")):
- open supertuxkart
- start "pavucontrol"
- in the tab "Playback" I see the "SuperTuxKart" Playback Stream
- I cannot select "Internal Audio Digital Stereo (HDMI)", it immediately
reverts back to "Internal Audio Analog Stereo"!
BTW: is it possible to use mixing with the HDMI-Audio device so that amarok +
other ALSA devices can use ALSA with HDMI-audio at the same time?
Thanks and Best Regards,
