Do you use a normal floppy drivce, I mean, not USB? I know that on some sony VAIO notebooks there is a problem of interrupts generated by USB floppy drive when usb driver is not loaded. But in other case, sorry, no idea. Well, just to be sure. This deadlock doesn't happen when ALSA is not loaded?
