Hi all,

I have just discovered the ALSA project and trying to install the utils I am
facing a problem.

The driver installation (sbawe) seems to work without problems. The loaded
modules are the following:

Module Size Used by
snd-seq-midi 4368 0 (autoclean) (unused)
snd-seq-midi-event 3248 0 (autoclean) [snd-seq-midi]
snd-seq 41904 0 (autoclean) [snd-seq-midi
snd-seq-midi-event]
snd-card-sbawe 5968 0
snd-sb16-dsp 7360 0 [snd-card-sbawe]
snd-pcm 62784 0 [snd-sb16-dsp]
snd-sb16-csp 18160 0 [snd-card-sbawe]
snd-sb-common 7552 0 [snd-card-sbawe snd-sb16-dsp snd-sb16-csp]
snd-opl3 6752 0 [snd-card-sbawe]
snd-timer 12448 0 [snd-seq snd-pcm snd-opl3]
snd-hwdep 4464 0 [snd-sb16-csp snd-opl3]
snd-mpu401-uart 3760 0 [snd-card-sbawe snd-sb16-dsp]
snd-rawmidi 14496 0 [snd-seq-midi snd-mpu401-uart]
snd-emu8000 11776 0 [snd-card-sbawe]
snd-seq-device 4224 0 [snd-seq-midi snd-seq snd-opl3 snd-rawmidi
snd-emu8000]
snd 34240 0 [snd-seq-midi snd-seq-midi-event snd-seq
snd-card-sbawe snd-sb16-dsp snd-pcm snd-sb16-csp snd-sb-common snd-opl3
snd-timer snd-hwdep snd-mpu401-uart snd-rawmidi snd-emu8000 snd-seq-device]
soundcore 4016 3 [snd]
3c509 7216 1 (autoclean)
isa-pnp 29072 0 (autoclean) [snd-card-sbawe 3c509]

but when trying to install the utils (so that I can unmute the mixer
channels) through the configure script I am getting the following output:

[root@atm11 alsa-utils-0.9.0beta9]# ./configure --prefix=/usr/alsapref/

despite the --prefix option I am using is the same as the one I used for the
configure script when installing the driver.

Can anyone give a piece of help?
Thanks in advance,

josé
