Hi!

I'm using alsa-0.5.11 for a few months now. Today I tried to install a
new kernel (2.4.10) on my Mandrake-System. Everything works, but not alsa.

At first, at compile time I got the following error a lot of times:

| /usr/src/linux/include/linux/malloc.h:3:2: warning: #warning The
| Use of linux/malloc.h is deprecated, use linux/slab.h

Then, after installing all modules etc. amixer said:

| The ALSA sound driver was not detected in this system.

alsactl said:

| alsactl: The soundcard 'card1' was not found...

And cat /proc/asound/sndstat:

| Sound Driver:3.8.1a-980706 (ALSA v0.5.11 emulation code)
| Kernel: Linux aiur.white-hawk.de 2.4.10-2mdk #2 Mon Okt 8
| 16:58:57 CEST 2001 i686
| Config options: 0
|
| Installed drivers:
| Type 10: ALSA emulation
|
| Card config:
| Sound Fusion CS461x at 0xef103000/0xef000000, irq 11
|
| Audio devices: NOT ENABLED IN CONFIG
|
| Synth devices: NOT ENABLED IN CONFIG
|
| Midi devices:
| 0: CS461X
|
| Timers:
| 7: system timer
|
| Mixers: NOT ENABLED IN CONFIG

What is the meaning of "NOT ENABLED IN CONFIG"?

cat /proc/asound/cards:

|0 [card1 ]: CS461x - Sound Fusion CS461x
| Sound Fusion CS461x at 0xef103000/0xef000000, irq11

What can I do? Thanks for any help!

Stephan
