Hi, I have the same problem (on vaio GR7/K the same japanese model) and I started asking if anybody could help about 2 months ago in this mailing list but nobody answered...
I tried so many ways to get sound from that laptop but I had no success... (oss loads correctly but no sound...) I must also say that sound is much better (but still messy) with newer releases of Alsa... So... I'm now waiting for new releases. As far as I know the problem comes from a wrong IRQ management very closely related to ACPI (that should manage interrupts in those newer laptops)... but... from dmesg: ALSA pcm_lib.c:180: Unexpected hw_pointer value (stream = 0, delta: -732, max jitter = 8192): wrong interrupt acknowledge? ALSA pcm_lib.c:1849: playback write error (DMA or IRQ trouble?) If can solve this problem, pleas elet me know... bye, -- Mattia At 17.13 05/12/2001 +0100, Axel Roebel wrote: >Hello, > >we just bought a new vaio laptop (vaio pcg-gr114) which has a AD Soundmax >controler.
