Hi,

I've just bought the new Terratec DMX 6fire soundcard, a PCI-card based
on the Envy24 chipset. The card as such is seen at boot-up, and by Yast2
(I use SuSE 7.3), but the ALSA driver ICE1712 complains about not seeing
the card. Trying to configure it with alsaconf more or less gives the
same messages as when booting up.

The relevant messages from /var/log/messages are:

Dec 19 17:59:44 linux kernel: snd: The AC'97 access is not valid,
removing mixer.
Dec 19 17:59:44 linux kernel: snd: ICE1712 soundcard #1 not found or
device busy
Dec 19 17:59:44 linux insmod:
/lib/modules/2.4.10-4GB/misc/snd-card-ice1712.o: init_module: No such device
Dec 19 17:59:44 linux insmod: Hint: insmod errors can be caused by
incorrect module parameters, including invalid IO or IRQ parameters
Dec 19 17:59:44 linux insmod:
/lib/modules/2.4.10-4GB/misc/snd-card-ice1712.o: insmod sound-slot-0 failed
Dec 19 17:59:44 linux modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module sound-slot-1
Dec 19 17:59:45 linux modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module
sound-service-1-0

Mayby ALSA uses the wrong IRQ/IO values? but where do I change them?

I tried several PCI-slots, to change the interrupt the card uses (there
is no IRQ-conflict for the interrupts used), but this doesn't help.

Anyone any idea?

Thanks!
