I have a machine with a Crystal CX4235 (which somehow became a Cirrus Logic 4235) and the alsa cs4236 driver works fine for it with one exception: the line out volume is very low.
I have increased the Master and PCM volumes in the mixer to the max but I don't seem to be able to get anywhere near the volume range that I can get with this machine in Windows(98). Now I don't say that to compare the Alsa driver to the Win98 driver as much as to just eliminate the problem being believed to be a hardware limitiation. Windows seems to get a decent volume out of this puppy, Alsa doesn't. :-( Any ideas? b. -- Brian J.
