but there are one interesting thing:
the chip is on serveral customer soundcards/mainboards
and here are three people (you, me and Johannes Schoeller)
with this problem (and nobody else ???)
and all of us got a Leadtek Winfast 6x ...

and it seems the Leadtek Winfast 4x (the 4 channel version) 
is working fine how Carsten Koch describes it in his AC3-howto

but in my case, it's not a real problem for me(!)
if the digital output works with the S16->U16 patch
analog can go to hell ;-)

so the (still unsolved) AC3 (SPDIF-raw) problem is more frustrating to me...
or depends it on the patch ????
