i keep having troubles with installation / configuration of the terratec ewx 24/96 soundcard. i am running suse 7.2 professional, got the suse-packages from ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/people/tiwai/alsa9-packages/7.2-i386. after a lot of problems with dependecies the installation of the software appeared to go ok. i tried to follow the readme as far as i could, unfortunately i am too new to linux to be fully aware of how to solve problems. the readme ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/people/tiwai/alsa9-packages/README sais i should modify /etc/modules.conf but the two requested parts are just not there in mine even though there was alsa 0.5 on the system before. also i deleted the /etc/asound.conf once as i was told in the readme, but it does not come back. when i installed the card with yast2 i had troubles, it said it could not find the module snd-card-ice1712. after i did modprobe snd-card-ice-1712 it went through. the situation right now: modprobe snd-card-ice 1712 does not work => "can't locate module snd-card-ice1712" when booting i get error messages: "starting sound driver:ice1712 modprobe: can't locate module snd-card-icd1712" and: "failed services on runlevel 5: alsasound" when booting kde (currently still 2.1.2 but i will upgrade to 2.2.2 during the following days) i get the messages on the xconsole that i put in below. if anyone would be willing to help me i would be _very_ grateful!
