Hello, i am new on the list ; i am living in France (exactly in ALSACE !!) ; my English is very very poor but i can read it.
I need a digital I/O card that accepts and delivers a AES/EBU and/or SPDI digital stream at 44.1 KHz. This I/Os shall be connected to a DAT recorder (TASCAM DA 30 MK II) which has a stereo AES/EBU input/output (IEC 958 Type I) and also ŕ SPDIF i/o (IEC 958 Type II). This card will be in a new computer ( appr. 1.2 GHz or more) with a stable Debian distrib and Csound. I need also a MIDI i/o card ; my preference would be a card with 4 ports (4 x 16 MIDI channels) or 4 cards that can be adressed separately (is it clear ?) We are a composer, a music-teacher, some choir singers and we plane to organize a "linux & musique" workshop (June 2002).
