Moin, I have the same problem with my opl3sa2. I used it with 2.2.17 and 0.5.9d for a long time (and it still worked yet when I boot that kernel). Than I upgraded my maschine to 2.4.16. Compilation of alsa 0.5.9d results into many warnings, loading the module failed whit the message: 'would taint the kernel'. Compilation of 0.5.12 succeed, but loading the module closed with the error message: 'no such device'. There are NO unresolved symbols! Compilation of 0.9beta9 is fine, but after adjust the parameters in the /etc/modules.conf to the new requirements (see INSTALL) insmod also fails with 'no such device'. The kernet itself was compiled with 'Sound Module' only, nothing else. Any hints? -- |Michael Renner E-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] | |D-72072 Tuebingen Germany | |Germany Don't drink as root!
