Hi, I've got alsa-0.5.11 installed on my system. My soundchip is I think a AC-97. It is onboard of my EPOX 8KHA+ motherboard. I've got a problem with the sound. If I search my playlist in xmms or other sound-programmes very fast (for example by pressing "b" for the next track very often in xmms) my system will hang, so that I had to restart my system with a reset. I can't move the mouse or try to kill the X-Server by pressing Strg-Alt-Backspace. I've already tried the OSS. With this sound-system I've no problems but unfortunately it is not free of charge. I hope my English is good enough:-).
