Using Mandrake 8.1 and devfs enable, installing ALSA fails. The problem is that no /proc/asound/dev is created. Here is the result of ls -l /proc/asound: lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 0 fév 4 00:03 0 -> card1/ dr-xr-xr-x 2 root root 0 fév 4 00:03 card1/ -r--r--r-- 1 root root 0 fév 4 00:03 cards -r--r--r-- 1 root root 0 fév 4 00:03 devices -r--r--r-- 1 root root 0 fév 4 00:03 meminfo -r--r--r-- 1 root root 0 fév 4 00:03 oss-devices -r--r--r-- 1 root root 0 fév 4 00:03 pcm dr-xr-xr-x 2 root root 0 fév 4 00:03 seq/ -r--r--r-- 1 root root 0 fév 4 00:03 sndstat -r--r--r-- 1 root root 0 fév 4 00:03 timers -r--r--r-- 1 root root 0 fév 4 00:03 version
Modules are loaded and evrything else is OK... but ALSA don't work. The same problem that Jesse Hughes (http://www.geocrawler.com/mail/msg.php3?msg_id=7185193&list=12350).
