Please grab the sources via cvs. The instruction will be found in the alsa download page. Now alsa-driver is split to alsa-kernal and alsa-driver directories. Please make sure both ones exist on the same directory. For installation of driver, try to run cvscompile script on the top of alsa-driver directory. Also you'll need automake/autoconf to compile the cvs version. In the cvs version, the names of alsa modules were renamed from snd-card-xxx to snd-xxx. In your case, the module name is now "snd-cmipci".
