Hello,
I'm french user of Midiman Dio24/96 user and i use alsa-driver-9 with 
ice1712 module on a debian woody system with kernel 2.2.20.
I get all the utils lib and driver in beta version on your website.
I made all source of this, no problem.

modprobe snd-card-ice1712 work fine
modprobe snd-pcm-oss work fine
envy24control, alsamixer and amixer work fine.

On my machine i have this :

But for all application like xmms, videolan, xine, aviplay i have this 
problem :

For Xmms :

When i put the play buton, but i see the title of the song...

For xine :
 All the initialisation is OK
And when i play the movie, i have :

audio_out: open failed!

audio_oss_out: ao_open rate=44100, mode=8, dev=/dev/dsp
audio_oss_out: unsupported mode 00000008

Once, I have the sound in all applications when i install 
alsa-driver-0.5 and mount the alsa device, i purge all, i install 
alsa-driver-0.9
and at this moment i have the sound when i reboot i have this error
