I installed alsa driver 0.5.12a drivers as the upgrade to 2.4.17 kernel apparently didnot get along with the old maestro3 drivers. Now the problem is during boot, it comes up with no mixer config in /etc/asound.conf, you have to unmute your card!
There is no /etc/asound.conf, there is a /etc/asound.conf.saved and /etc/asound.state. Copied the asound.conf.saved to asound.conf, but things go worse so removed it again. How do you create the asound.conf file and/or how do you unmute the sound card? I tried enabling the sound, etc in Suse 7.3 control panel, but nothing happens.
